About EXPO

    With the goal of building an exchange platform for the museum industry and  fostering the creative development of the museum industry, the “Museums and Relevant Products and Technologies Exposition” (hereinafter referred to as MPT-EXPO) is the only international and comprehensive exhibition for the museum and museum-related industry in China. Under the guidance of the National Bureau of Cultural Relics, the MPT-EXPO was established in 2004 by the Chinese Museums Association and the China Natural and Scientific Museum Society along with other organizations. The MPT-EXPO has already been held successfully four times. In total over 600 museums, and more than 1200 suppliers of products and technologies have had the opportunity to participate in previous fairs as well as more than 800 experts from China and around the world.


    The leadership of the Chinese government is focused on the “Museums and Relevant Products and Technologies Exposition”. Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CCCPC has met the Vice-president of the International Museum Council who attended the first MPT-EXPO, at the Great Hall of the People. He Luli and Zhou Tie Nong, Vice-chairmen of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress both attended the opening ceremony and had discussions with representatives of exhibiting museums and enterprises. A detailed report about the MPT-EXPO by the National Bureau of Cultural Relics, “Key Events in the World of Cultural Relics” was then sent to the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CCCPC, the National People’s Congress, the National Political Consultative Conference, and other relevant departments. The National Bureau of Cultural Relics has recognized the success of MPT-EXPO numerous times.


    The National Cultural Relics working conference has just come to a close and has set goals to promote the museum industry by encouraging museum exchanges and upgrading facilities and skills to international standards. The success of MPT-EXPO is of great importance and is in line with the Sixth Plenary session of the 17th National People’s Congress and the National Cultural Relics working conference and looks forward to the success of the 18th National People’s Congress.
