The Henan Museum to undertake the conservation and restoration project of Pingdingshan's metal relics

On the afternoon of August 7, the conservation and restoration project undertaken by the Henan Museum at the Pingdingshan Cultural Heritage Services Centre was successfully completed at the centre.

The Deputy Party secretary of the Henan Museum, Ding Fuli; the director of the Cultural Protection Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shan Xiaoming; the delegation from the Pingdingshan Cultural Heritage Service Center, etc. , attended the final report and assessment meeting, the two sides discussed the implementation of the project with members of the Expert Group, and carried out on-site inspection and acceptance of the restored cultural relics.

This item includes two items, namely, the restoration of lead-tin ware, bronze ware and iron ware, with a total of 25 pieces restored, including 11 lead-tin ware, 1 bronze ware and 13 iron ware, are carried out strictly in accordance with the restoration plan approved by the Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, using modern scientific and technological analysis methods in combination with traditional restoration methods, to carry out protective restoration in accordance with the basic principles for the restoration of cultural relics, such as minimum intervention, authenticity and rehandling, and to establish a scientific management system for the protection and restoration of cultural relics, in view of the current conservation situation of cultural relics of different materials, to put in place a reasonable repair route. During the implementation of the project, a detailed archive record was established, and corresponding suggestions were made for the display and preservation of the restored cultural relics.

In recent years, the Henan Museum, as the "first batch of high-quality service institutions for the protection and restoration of movable cultural relics" established by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, has made full use of its strong advantages in the preservation and restoration of cultural relics, it has also successfully provided technical services to a large number of cultural and museum institutions in and outside the province, including the China Maritime Museum, the Wenzhou Museum, the Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and archaeology, the Pingdingshan Cultural Relics Bureau, and the Sanmenxia City Museum, it's got a lot of buzz. The conservation and restoration project of Pingdingshan metal relics is the second cultural preservation project between the Henan Museum and the cultural relics authorities of Pingdingshan. The smooth progress of this item, for the future to better carry out the friendly cooperation with the provincial and foreign cultural museum units further accumulated experience.
