The Getty Leadership Institute and Museum High-Level Talent Program lecture was successfully held at the main venue of the 7th Expo

On the morning of September 18, the Getty Leadership Institute's "High-Level Talent Development Program for Getty Leadership Academy and Museums" lecture was successfully held at the main venue of the 7th Expo.

Patricia Ludvold, head of the Getty Leadership Academy's China program, introduced the Getty Leadership Academy in the United States. She first explained that the Getty Leadership Institute classifies museum directors, directors and donors as museum leaders, and trains middle and senior museum managers. She went on to explain that a leader should have an intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking and tactical drive, and be the most effective storyteller. The Getty Leadership Academy's philosophy of development is based on a framework of knowing yourself, knowing your organization, and knowing your domain. She introduced that the college mainly provides training in the four areas of self-awareness, management ability, practical application and leadership. School courses include electronic technology, leadership evaluation and development, design thinking strategies, time management skills, etc. These training courses mainly provide practical applications for students, as well as content on the video network for students to understand the news, share resources, module discussion and so on.

Afterwards, Patricia invited Wang Fang from Guangdong Provincial Museum and Wang Xiaofen from Shanxi Museum, both of whom have attended the Getty Leadership Institute, to share their experiences. Wang said that what she felt most during the training was the dedication of the students, the way the college trained them and the encouragement they gave them to ask their own questions. In her speech, she also expressed her views on the homogenization of museums in China and the mission of museums.

In her speech, Wang Xiaofen mentioned three things she gained from the training. First, she deepened her understanding of leadership. Second, the understanding of the macroscopic concept of museum; The third is to get to know partners.

On the day of the lecture, a large number of audience members came into the venue to learn more about the Getty Leadership Academy and to exchange information with the keynote speakers.
